The Kansas City Chiefs are looking for a statement win they face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 14.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who registered seven catches for 68 yards during Kansas City’s 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, has only scored two touchdowns this season.
If Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes can find Kelce in the end zone on “Sunday Night Football,” the nine-time Pro Bowler will surpass Tony Gonzalez for most touchdowns in franchise history.
Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, returned to Arrowhead Stadium for the Raiders-Chiefs showdown last week, however, she can’t attend the team’s upcoming “Sunday Night Football” game. The pop star will be in Vancouver performing her final Eras show on Dec. 8.
While Kelce won’t be able to watch Swift take her last bow on stage at BC Place, he’s fully prepared for another momentous occasion just around the corner, his girlfriend’s 35th birthday.
A source told Page Six, “This is a milestone birthday for Taylor so he wants to make it extra special. Travis has only let a few of those closest to him know what he has in store for Taylor because he doesn’t want to ruin any surprises.”
Kelce also isn’t letting the Chiefs’ upcoming schedule get in the way. “Although he’ll be playing on Christmas and has an away game the weekend of Taylor’s birthday, Travis is going to make sure to take time out to celebrate both occasions with her,” the insider noted.
After the Chiefs host the Chargers, they travel to take on the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 15, just two days after Swift’s birthday on Dec. 13. On December 25, Kansas City takes on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road at Acrisure Stadium.
While it’s not easy picking out presents for the billionaire singer, Kelce has been stockpiling gifts for both her birthday and Christmas over “the past several months,” the source said.
“Some of the gifts are things Taylor has casually mentioned she would like… Travis makes sure to always listen even when Taylor doesn’t realize he is.”
