The Buffalo Bills may have pounded the Los Angeles Rams, 31-10, in Thursday’s NFL opener, but in the streets surrounding SoFi Stadium, things were considerably more competitive.
Former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho posted video on Twitter showing Rams and Bills fans exchanging punches after the game.
The skirmish took place in the center of a busy LA intersection until local law enforcement managed to get the situation under control.
The scene unfolded when a Bills fan in Stefon Diggs jersey threw a right hook at an approaching Rams fan wearing a Cooper Kupp t-shirt.
The Bills fan immediately began back peddling after landing the right as another Rams fan, this one wearing Cam Akers’ No. 23, began to pursue him. (Akers now wears No. 3, but wore No. 23 last season)
‘They doing too much,’ a voice, presumably Acho’s, can be heard saying in the background. ‘They doing too much.’
Eventually the Bills fan in the Diggs jersey landed a few more punches on the second Rams supporter, but appeared to do little damage and continued back peddling.
Meanwhile, a cop who appeared to have been on traffic duty, got involved in the situation by throwing his arms around the Rams fan in the Akers jersey.
Nobody appeared to be hurt during the altercation, although the Rams fan in the Kupp jersey did get knocked down at one point.
A pack of observers had gathered by that point, including former Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy.
‘They can’t fight,’ announced McCoy, who has been out of the NFL since 2020.
It’s unclear if any arrests were made.
