Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey have officially said “I do” in an elegant Rhode Island wedding.
The 32-year-old model and her NFL beau exchanged vows in a romantic Rhode Island ceremony on Saturday, June 29.
They picked a quaint chapel in Watch Hill, fulfilling Christian’s dream of a traditional church wedding. Olivia gushed: “That was our number one priority. It’s a covenant. It’s the beginning of the rest of your life-and it’s the union and bond of two people forever.”
The model went for a classic look with a long-sleeve crepe crew neck Dolce and Gabbana ballgown, aiming for a dress that reflected the gravity of their commitment rather than sex appeal.
She continued to share her vision with Vogue.com: “I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape, or form. I wanted it to feel effortless and as if it’s complimenting me, not overpowering me. There’s so much beauty and simplicity. It was exactly the same as the original sketch. This is the first, last, and only wedding dress I tried on.”
Reflecting on her partner’s preferences, she added: “When I think about Christian and what he loves and the moments that he thinks that I’m most beautiful, it’s absolutely in something like this: timeless, covered, and elegant.”
For the big day, Olivia chose a dramatic 16-foot lace veil and kept her makeup understated, skipping mascara and eyebrow gel for a natural glow.
The couple, who began dating four years ago, announced their engagement in April 2023. True to tradition, Olivia insisted on keeping her gown a secret from Christian until the moment she walked down the aisle.
She spilled the beans to PEOPLE magazine at the time, saying: “I know for sure we’re not going to do a first look, so he won’t see me until I’m walking down the aisle. I think that that’s a little less common these days.”
