Olivia Culpo had a front-row seat to husband Christian McCaffrey’s 49ers return on Sunday.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit alum, 32, watched the running back in action against the Buccaneers in Tampa after he was sidelined for months due to a calf issue in preseason and Achilles tendinitis.
Culpo, who married McCaffrey in a lavish Rhode Island ceremony over the summer, watched the game with friends, including Claire Kittle, the wife of 49ers tight end George Kittle.
McCaffrey rushed for 39 yards in San Francisco’s 23-20 win.
The 49ers are now 5-4 on the season.
Sunday’s return has been a long time coming for McCaffrey, 28.
In the days leading up to the Week 10 matchup, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said McCaffrey was “good to go.”
“I do feel good one way or another. He’s had two good days… he’s been awesome these last two days,” Shanahan said Thursday on KNBR’s “Tolbert & Copes” program.
“So hopefully, that continues to go well and I expect to get him out there and you never know for a setback or anything but these two days have been great and I expect to see him out there.”
The reigning Offensive Player of the Year, McCaffrey rushed for 1,459 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2023, adding 564 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
McCaffrey made his first-ever Super Bowl appearance in February, when San Francisco fell to the defending champion Chiefs in overtime, 25-22.
Culpo — who has been by McCaffrey’s side since 2019 when he was a member of the Panthers — posted a heartfelt message to the three-time Pro Bowler in the wake of that crushing loss.
“Thanking God for a healthy season and for putting my best friend on this earth,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
The 49ers, currently second in the NFC West, host the rival Seahawks (4-5) next Sunday.
