Cowboys EVP Explains Why Dallas Is ‘Holding Money Back’ Amid CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott Contract Extension Talks

F1 Grand Prix of Miami

Following a defeat to the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round of the previous season, the Dallas Cowboys were eliminated from the postseason. Following the game, team owner Jerry Jones declared that he would go “all in” this offseason to end the team’s three-decade Suρer Bowl drought and that he wasn’t scаred to spend money.

Executive vice president of the Dallas Cowboys Stephen Jones, his son, stated during an interview on 105.3 The Fan that he believes the franchise has been “all in” every season.

Although he acknowledged that Dallas uses the salary cap every season, he also provided an explanation for why he hasn’t signed any more significant free agents this winter.

According to Stephen Jones, they have to forgo spending money on other players in order to sign Dak Prescott, Micah Parsons, and CeeDee Lamb.

It does not imply that it occurs instantly. However, if you want to have a realistic shot of signing players like Micah Parsons, Dak Prescott, and CeeDee Lamb, you have to hold back money.” Said Jones.

The Dallas Cowboys fan base is impatiently waiting for the organization to sign one of their key players to a contract extension. With Jones’ recent stance that he is saving money for those contracts, fans’ patience may start to run even thinner.
