n a heartfelt post on Instagram, Rachel Bush, wife of former Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer, praised her husband for his impact on the franchise and the city of Buffalo.
Poyer, who was released by the Bills as part of a salary cap restructuring, has been a consistent performer for the team, helping them become playoff regulars.
“Right now I just want my husband to know what a leader and inspiration he is. The impact he made will always be remembered. Both within the football world and outside as well. You went into Buffalo and gave that city something they were longing for: Changed the culture,” Bush wrote.
Rachel was optimistic despite the circumstances
Poyer, a seventh-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles before moving to the Cleveland Browns in 2013. He joined the Bills in 2017 and has since become a key member of the team’s defense.
Bush also expressed excitement about their new journey, saying, “My All Pro, in life and on the field! We love you! Here’s to new beginnings! Something we both always welcome with open arms as we love excitement.”
Rachel was full of praise for her husband: “I don’t have the words yet but they are coming (along with so many photo memories),” and “You’re special my love and what you have done is such an accomplishment. A true game changer!!” were the other messages she shared in her Instagram account.
The Bills released Poyer as part of a series of cuts to free up salary cap space. The team also parted ways with center Mitch Morse, cornerback Tre’Davious White, and others, clearing approximately $25.96 million in cap space.
